Tomorrow it will be fun and memorable day for me.  First, we will be bringing my Lola Glo (I call her Mama Glo) to the airport for her flight back home to Malaybalay Bukidnon.  She has just capped off a 4 months vacation in Abu Dhabi with her daughter and their family.  She stayed with us in Los Banos for a week before going back to her hometown.

After the airport, we will be visiting my other root.  My Lola Lola (since she is the mother in law of my Lola, father side).  She lives in Cubao and is pretty old already. About 89 years old now, but she is very positive and can still ride a tricycle on her own.  I heard we will be eating some chickens for lunch – yum yum!  Well, I am heading off early to bed now to prepare for the day ahead tomorrow.

Will post some pictures next time – :)

Praying with my Mama and Papa

These times, its often that I lead my mama and papa in our prayers.  The great thing about it is I get to somehow dictate how long our prayer time would be.  My papa usually prays at a longer time, so more or less you know why I like leading our prayer.  The other night I thanked God about my papa’s work, our family business, my school, my toys, emails and the food that we eat daily.  Usually its a bonding time for us also to just sit down together and listen quietly to whoever is leading the prayer.  I have so many blessings to thank for – how bout u?

Vacation’s over

My 2nd school year officially begins today June 12, 2007. Vacation was a lot of fun – had more time to clown around the apartment. Also, we went to the UPLB field a lot to run and play. I also attended that 5 day reading class – that kept my brain working. Me and my cousin Ate Eeza also danced and play a lot. ITs nice to have someone of your generation also around you – coz most of the time, it’s my Papa and Mama and me only.

Looking ahead, I will be attending my kinder class at Gateway school – which is just 15 steps from our apartment. It will be a good time for me to spend more time building up my physical capabilities since my Mama noticed that last school year, I had a lot of absences due to the fact that traveling going to school weakens my immune system. Hopefully I will complete my schooldays this time.

Goodbye vacation and hello kindergarten!

My 5 day Reading School Assesment

Last week of May, I attended a 5 day (1 hour per day) reading class to hone up on my 5 year old vocabulary. Here is the honest, no holds barred evaluation of my teacher…

Daniel C. is a very focused child. He listens well in class thus, when asked to participate he delivers correct answers. His underlying naughtiness comes during break times and his classmates jeer him to do so which is typical for a kid his age. He also has good retention and had already acquired blending skills. However, he has low comprehension skills which he needs to develop to be able to understand the words he reads. With this, I would recommend that he undergo the Basic Reading Program first which I believe he’ll breeze through but is very essential for him to really have a strong foundation in reading. Afterwards, he can undergo the Advance Reading Program. There he’ll be exposed to more complex words and be able to learn to comprehend them. I think its high time that Daniel starts to improve his vocabulary too. Thank you for joining the FastPrep Reading Clinic.
